An inconvenient scripture for their theology to be sure. This is their latest explanation:
Jesus did not prevent the man because the Christian congregation had not yet been formed. Hence, it was not required that the man physically accompany Jesus
these two verses indicate that "others" were preaching in jesus' name and when the apostles reported it to him, he said "let him alone for he who is with us is not against us".... since the wtbts states they are the only way to salvation, what does this scripture mean?
others have the right to salvation as well - straight from jesus' mouth- as long as they preach ( in the verse it says expel demons as well) using jesus name?

so i was recently in a thrift store, looking through some of the stuff there, when another aisle over, somebody sneezed.. (as far as i know, nobody lost a meatball.... 😅🙃 ...).
anyway, somebody sneezed.
and somebody immediately said, “bless you!”.

I love your storytelling style, it was like I was right there! And no, I don't think it was mean for you to act that way, it's necessary. Hopefully she feels foolish and begins to think a little, or at least the employee will always remember this whenever someone tries to 'witness' to her in the future.
so i was talking with my husband about all the things the organization is doing ie.
hiding pedophiles, lying about what 1914 was etc.
so his response was that the nation of israel had times when they weren’t doing the right thing, but it was still gods chosen organization.. another topic we were talking about was disfellowshipping.
1: If he mentions all the bad things Israel did, point out that God rejected them as a whole because of it.
2: As for disfellowshipping, there's some great info here:

has anyone had success in helping your spouse to wake up?
i’m thinking of showing my husband jwfacts.
he is starting to do his own research using wikipedia and google.
StarTrekAngel makes a good point:
JWFacts has perhaps the best collection of damning WT quotes in existence. Pick the best ones, especially more recent ones you can get on WT Library, and focus on that without the stigma of an 'apostate' website.
just recently i was looking at a topic on jwfacts entitled 'paradise on earth forever.
' from the research paul did on this topic he mentioned that there is no biblical evidence of an earthly resurrection.
i haven't heard this before but wanted to get some thoughts on this topic.
Funny how they don't use the same rule for Governing Body
Or Paradise Earth for that matter.

I notice it's described as a "supernatural" realm. A lot of these worldwide legends seem to just be using earthly metaphors to describe a spiritual afterlife.

Hi Jeff1. Welcome, and great question. Yes, there is *zero* content in the new testament that points to an earthly resurrection, and as has been pointed out, ALL Christians are anointed and both the 144,000 and great crowd are in heaven. As for old testament scriptures that seem to mention a paradise Earth, please see this thread:
anyone remember when someone was reinstated after the announcement they congregation would shake hands and hug?
then they announced a new rule that this was inappropriate to clap or hug, shake hands, that the newly reinstated was only doing what they should bla bla bla.
.
there may well be spontaneous, dignified applause
Spontaneous? That's a laugh. A JW reads this as:
"Before we weren't allowed to clap. Now we are allowed to clap."
There is no gray area, because a good JW isn't capable of contemplating gray areas.
earlier i posted about the call from close family about that the end is expected in very short time.. today i had the opportunity to speak in person.. this is what is told to me:.
- the gb speaks to us personality through broadcasting;.
- the annual meeting was a very clear message from the gb;.
isn't that Daniel prophecy something that was to have an international, global fulfillment
Yes, that's why they said the very non-committal 'it would not be surprising if it spread worldwide'.
i wanted to share a short story from my time studying that congregation (not studying with) where the elder told me 5 years to armageddon i thought some posters might enjoy, little mid-week chuckle that's what i'm going for here.. so this one elder in particular came across like he saw himself as a 'spiritual giant' (weird term cause i thought the nephilim caused all the problems before the flood but thats how jws talk about 'spiritual' people so hey, when in rome).
it just came across in how he held himself and the kinda cold, superior way he looked at you... well, until one sunday at least.. so i came into the hall for the sunday service and i saw him strutting around by the 'information board' (not bulletin board, god forbid) with a manilla folder he'd scrawled confidential across enormously in black sharpy.
he posted a couple letters and then strut into the sanctuary, where he got on stage to read for the watchtower study.
strutting around . . . with a manilla folder he'd scrawled CONFIDENTIAL across enormously in black sharpy
Lol, probably lingering there hoping someone would notice the word he DELIBERATELY put on the folder. It gave him some pathetic importance to be in a secret treehouse club.
